Mamavation Monday 9/6

Hello ladies!

The past few weeks have been a little bananas for me, with me quitting my job and being in class all day for two weeks straight. That said, since August 23rd I've gained 3.8 lbs. Totally lame.

The first week of class I did great with packing my lunch...the second week, not so much. I got to know my classmates better and went to get lunch with them instead. I could have made way better choices, but didn't. I was also studying like crazy and fell victim to late night snacking...another bad choice.

Pretty much the only good thing I did last week was drink lots of water. I was constantly sipping it through class.

Hopefully I'll get a job as an SRNA soon, so I'll be able to establish a routine again. Looking forward to that day!

My goals this week are to try to avoid eating out, particularly fast food. I think that's what really killed me last week. I'm convinced a homecooked meal, no matter what it is, is better than most fast food options. Since I'm not working, I'm going to try to work out more as well. School has taken a priority these past few weeks, but my nursing assistant class is over now, so my days aren't as busy until I start working again.

  2. I know how challening a weight gain can be, but at least you know what caused it so you can get back to work. Good luck and have a great week. Try to get more water in than normal - you'll get the extra steps running to the potty. :) HA!

  3. Hey lady! I think you should go out for lunch once a week and make it an experiment on how to choose the best fast food lunch!! They always have some option nowadays. See if it works. Then pack the other days. Go out to lunch but eat your packed lunch!

    That 4 pounds will fall off.

  4. Don't worry, you'll get back on track. You know what needs to be done and you'll do it. Bring a lunch to eat out with friends and keep drinking that water :)

  5. I wish it was just eating out. You have to be careful what you eat at home too. I had to learn that the hard way this week. lol

  6. You know what my Hubby has started doing? Packing his lunch but still going out with his colleagues. Yes, he takes his packed lunch into the restaurant. He orders an iced tea. No one has said anything yet. He gets his healthy, frugal lunch, and still enjoys the downtime with his co-workers.

  7. I can totally appreciate how hectic things get when going to school. You'll find your rhythm soon enough and the gain will become a loss! Chin up!

  8. BIG HGUS... struggling to find the new normal is hard - I too am struggling to find a new routine on what works for us (with my oldest in preschool 5x a week). Change is hard... once you find your groove things will get easier!
