Mamavation Monday 6/7

This week was so not good for me. I was feeling pretty depressed and anxious, and gave in to some emotional eating. Where did we all seem to learn this "emotional eating" behavior? It needs to stop, so I'll be focusing on channeling any negative energy into something more productive this week.

My sleeping schedule (and thus eating schedule) has been a little out of whack this week too. My anxiety caused me to stay up late one night, which caused a nap the next day, and then another late night, etc. This week I'm definitely getting back on a normal schedule, because I'll probably lose my mind if I don't.

Also, I'd really like to follow more Mamavation Sistas on Twitter...I'll take all the support I can get! If I don't follow you, I'd really appreciate it if you could leave your twitter ID as a comment on here.

Also, EASports Active is this weeks Mamavation sponsor. I've never used this in my life, but I do have a Wii and it's definitely on my "rewards" list for me weight loss. I've heard great things about this!

  1. The emotional eating is something I battle everyday. When I'm anxious the first thing I do is open the fridge. It's like programmed into me from childhood and I've had an eating disorder since then. I really don't know how to get hold of it, but I've had to change what I eat to keep myself from derailing everything. Another thing I do now is crave endorphins from exercise. If I got 2-3 days without an endorphin rush, I'm very grumpy. I think I might be on anti-depressants without the exercise. And honestly, it does that much for my demeanor.

    Just remember we are here for you! XXOO

  2. Emotional eating is a tough battle to fight. The one thing I try to do when I feel the urge to munch come on, is grab either a water bottle or baked pita chips and hummus. You still have to be careful but it satisfies that need for salty/crunchy. Also some of the ladies really like Greek yogurt. But the best thing to do is to try to refocus your attention on a healthy activity like walking or stretching ~ anything that'll clear your head. My twitter ID is @DaenelT (let me know you're a Mamavation sister so I can follow you back).

  5. {{hugs}}

    I UN-DER-STAND! It is so hard for me NOT to turn to food when I'm stressed . . . and sleep cycles are hard for me. I will have random bouts of insomnia (on top of rarely going to bed before midnight).

    Did you join Pete's program? He was offering it free last Monday for Mamamvation Sista's -- I hope you were able to join in. He really does a great job of helping people work through the emotions of eating, etc.

  8. I think we all understand emotional eating. I was fighting the same battle last week. Make your choices good ones if you are in a "mood" or get yourself away from the food. Get out somewhere, even if it isn't for exercise, just to get away from the temptation.

    I hope this week is a better one.

  9. CJ the sleep deprivation link to throwing everything you are doing out of whack is completely understandable. I don't know your stress but good luck with it subsiding this week. Rest woman, your routine will get back on track.

  10. get that sleep under control sista!!! Once you get that under control it will be easier to address any other issues. I tend to stay up late...to nearly 1am sometimes. I do most of my photo editing and admin work for my biz after everyone goes to bed. I am learning how to not stay up too late...usually midnight now. I feel so much better when I can get 7hrs sleep!
    You know I'm just getting out of my own funk so I totally know how you feel.
    I'm @JustTracyB on twitter. Just give a holler and I'll follow you if I'm not already. I lose track. hehehe
