Mamavation Monday

This week was (and still is) really difficult for me. Not because I was struggling with food, or exercise, or smoking less, but because I've just felt down in the dumps. Work has totally been kicking my ass and has left little time for anything else. This has really started to effect my mood, but hopefully it will get better soon.

On a lighter note, I *think* I lost 1/2 a pound this week. I'm not sure...because my scale has gone insane and will vary my weight by several pounds if I step off the scale and immediately back on. I think it's time to invest in a new one. Also, I've cut down how much I smoke by about half, so that's good too.

Not much else to report on this week. Like I said, I've really just been feeling very BLAH

Hope you all have a great week!

  2. I have lots of those kicking butt, down in the dump moments! I keep trying to visualize myself where I want to be to try to stay motivated. Good job on cutting back smoking as you are tackling a lot at once!

Soda was not too bad but Crystal Light .. I just don't love water enough yet!

Keep your chin up! You will get there!

  3. Do you think that cutting back on the smoking might have anything to do with it? I think it does. Basically, the cigarettes deprive your brain of oxygen and now you are getting more oxygen to your brain. It's like a chemical change in your brain. This will pass. But for it to completely go away, you will have to quit smoking completely and go through the withdrawals. It gets worse, then it gets better. XXOO

  4. You can do this babe! I have utmost faith in you! I'm excited that you've cut your smoking in half, but I really think you can cut it completely out. You're a strong woman, and you can control this part of your life.

I'm like Leah, when the smoking is cut completely out, and you've post the point of withdrawls, things will start to look up for you!

Congrats on the 1/2 lb! Slow and steady wins the race babe.

    <3 and hugs!

I hope your week gets better! Have you looked into trying St. John's Wort to get you through your funk?

  6. Smoking and being down in the dumps can go hand in hand. In a way I am glad work is keeping you busy. Now it is a matter of weaning into a better time management schedule and finding time for joy.

  11. Smoking is tough to kick and it affects many parts of the brain AND the lungs so as you cut down you are going ot have mood changes and it's going to feel like it's tougher to breathe during exercise for a while until you start getting healthier and get more healthy air into our lungs as well.
I quit almost 6.5 yrs ago. I had to quit cold turkey though since I was pregnant. I never went back. If you ever need any support, just let me know. :-)
