Mamavation Monday 5/31

Hello ladies!

This week was pretty good for me. I worked out and ate mostly healthy foods...and lost a pound! Woot! That brings me down to 246.

I'm getting into that "coasting" phase...where this new lifestyle is no longer an exciting new adventure. I have to be careful this week to keep consciously thinking about what's going into my body and how I'm burning calories. I wouldn't say I'm in a rut, but the "newness" of it all is definitely wearing off.

This week I'm going to try really hard to think about if I'm REALLY hungry before I eat. I'm a classic "eat when I'm bored" type of person. I really need to find other, more productive ways of occupying my time.

I'm also interested in finding recipes designed for fewer than 4 people. If you know of any, please e-mail me or post a link. I'd really appreciate it.

I also have some pork chops in the freezer that need to be eaten soon. Anyone have a healthy recipe for them?

I just got a new (to me) crock pot today...so dinners this week will probably center around that. I'm ridiculously excited.

One last random note: Seventh Generation is going to be sponsoring my very first blog giveaway! As soon as I have my products to review (should be by the end of the week) I'll make a post and give you all more details about the giveaway. Keep an eye out here or on twitter for updates!

  1. I know that feeling, but there is a part of that that will be true for the rest of your journey. You will start to get comfortable with your healthy living. It's not always a bad thing, part of it means that you are getting used to it and it's becoming part of your lifestyle...which is good. If you feel like you aren't being challenged, I'd step up the exercise. Try harder in your workouts...you know how you can do that...make it harder so you sweat more and that burn happens quicker. And then push yourself through it. Cause that is where you will see results. When you plateau...then we create the game plan on how to get you out of that with food/exercise. But you are losing, so we aren't there yet.

My advice is to get on Amazon.com and get some Weight Watchers cook books. They are FANTASTIC! I used them throughout my entire weight loss.

  2. Sounds like you are doing an awesome job. As far as recipes I LOVE LOVE Clean Eating Magazine and the Eat Clean Cookbooks. I have found many healthy and low calorie recipes, many for the crock pot.

    Have another great week!

  6. Woo hoo on your loss!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE my crockpot -- hands down, it's my favorite kitchen appliance.

Have you looked at eatingwell.com? I've been finding a lot of great recipes there (and they're all healthy and organized based on your needs -- low cal, pork, etc).

  7. I agree with Leah about the WW cookbooks. They have some great ones for two people recipes. Love them! And I LOVE the slow cooker. Just google healthy slow cooker recipes or something of the like. Don't get too comfy! That's when you need to step it up a notch and make it exciting again!

  10. It is good to know yourself and know you get bored easily. Things like learning crockpot cooking, cooking for under 4, and new pork chop recipes will hopefully help with your motivation.

  11. I am a bored eater as well. I like to just get outside and take a walk. Get far away from food as possible. I will also chew a piece of gum instead.

Congrats with your 1 lb loss and more to come!!

  13. The crockpot is my cooking appliance...yeah, I'm no great cook, but I do love it! Congratulations on your lb this week! That is wonderful! Work thru the boredom, find something new & fun to keep it interesting, even if it's something tiny like trying a new healthy food or trying to go up to the next level in exercise (like following the chick doing the harder moves in videos instead of the beginner). You can do it!
